Thanksgiving 6 years ago today...
I am bummed because I had in mind my photo for today and I left what I needed at work. When Paul and I were dating we use to go for Chinese food. Of course when we read our fortunes we would always add "in bed" at the end of the fortunes. Just a silly little thing we would do.
Our first Thanksgiving together...six years ago...we decided that after Thanksgiving with the family that we would order in Chinese and have it in bed. So we did just that! Little did he know that days before I had made my own fortune up to slip into his cookie..and I asked him to marry me. He said yes.
Since then ...we have always saved our fortunes. I have a pile of them on my desk at work that I have saved over the year. I was going to take a pic of them...but I can't break into my bank to do so. So I guess I won't do anything for a picture.
Another really cool note...that the night he asked me to marry him with the ring...we had Chinese, and we both had the same fortune in our cookies. This is what it said, "You will have good luck in all your personal affairs." Now just how cool is that?

In memory of Scott
I am blessed to have crossed the path with Doreena Javins. I know she will laugh when she reads this...but despite the adversity she has faced, she is one of the most positive upbeat individuals that I know. What I have learned from Doreena is that once you are a mom...you are ALWAYS a mom. Nothing, not even death can separate you from this love.
Her son Scott Javins went missing. They searched for him for years, and only recently had they recovered Scott and his car from the Wabash river a couple of years ago.
Tonight was their 6th annual memorial for victims of crime and missing peoples. It was a sur-real experience. And I left there...wanting to come home and hug each of my kids and kiss my husband. Everyday is truly a gift. And finding friends like Doreena is a true blessings.
Doreena and her husband Merv are some of the greatest people that I know! I think by this single fact alone...they bring so much hope to others who are around them.
To Scott....even though I never ment him in my life, I feel as if I knew him well. That alone, should count for something, because that is exactly why Dorrena and Merv do the things that they do to keep his memeory alive!!!

Pennies From Heaven
Sometimes we visit the grave of our Aunt Kay. The other day when we visited we each left her a pennie. There were three of us, and so we paid our respects and left behind three pennies. Everytime we go and leave pennies...I come home to find them all over my house, as if she really were send them back to us from Heaven. So within the hour of our visit...I come home and underneath the cutting board in the kitchen (which I NEVER use the kitchen) laid three pennies. Who knows what to think of it...but it does make us feel good! Love to you Aunt Kay.
