Flash Back Friday - The Blue Rocking Chair
I look at this picture and I am flooded with so many sweet memories. This was when Taylor use to come every weekend (and yes, I am being Mamoo..because we miss you Taylor!). It was Paul's birthday, and we went got him a blue rocking chair. We got the idea from Kenny Chesney...and his Blue Rocking Chair song. We wanted Paul to have a chair just the same; one that he could sit in, drink in, fall asleep in and thinking about the things of the world. Then we got him a cool cowboy hat so he could maybe be a little more like his Brazilbille daughter who got the chair for him to begin with.
We still have the chair! We still have the hat. And with this picture we still have the sweet memory of a really cool birthday! I think this might even have been the his big 40!

They grow up too fast!
Tonight I have been sitting at my computer editing photos from Maddie and Adam's wedding. My kids keep coming in the room for me. Sometimes for a drink, or just to share with me something that happened today at school, or show me a silly photo they just took. Then I get to these photos from the wedding....
and I am reminded of just how little time I do have with them! So goodbye for now while we go and get ready for bed. So I can help them brush their teeth, kiss and hug them goodnight, and read a story while they still want me too.

The Things my Kids Say
My kids were cracking me up tonight. Macey said that her friend did not want to play with her today in the gym. Gavin assured her that this is ok, that sometimes your friends don't want to play with you, but that doesn't mean they are not still your friend. Macey got tired of him talking and told him to stop. Gavin said, I've lived a long hard ten years...just trying to help you out.
Then at dinner Macey was asking question after question. Things like, why do they have Pepsi and not Coke here? Where does the water go when you flush the potty? Do you remember the little boy that was here last time we came to eat? Why is your lemon floating in your drink? Why is the seat arm so high on this chair? What does this word say? When is it going to be summer? Is today, tomorrow (her favorite of all questions)? I said Macey, why are you asking me so many questions? She told me it was because she hadn't seen me all day!
Then we went to Wal-mart. I should just deposit half of my check to that company. I should start of blog of either the things we buy at Wal-mart, or list the days we go. Either way, when we left Macey said, I can't wait to get home and have a drink. I laughed. Of course she just wanted a glass of soda.
It is funny the things they think of, and the different perspective they add to life!

Random Stuff
Your never too old to catch a snowflake on your tongue...
This is reminds me of Where's Waldo, only it's Where's Jack...
Strawberries - ever since we had strawberry shortcake at Grammy's we've had to have it at home now too. Do you want cream, and cake with them too? Don't forget to leave a tip for the help (Macey).
Ever feel like something is right in front of you, and you just can't see it?

Pennies from Heaven con't...
My 2nd post on this blog was about Aunt Kay and how Macey and I go and leave pennies on her grave frequently. The 19th of this month was the anniversary of her death. I didn't think about it until yesterday morning on the way to work. But on the 19th...when I brought Gavin and Macey home from school, Macey found a penny on the door step. She showed me "Mom, I found a penny from Aunt Kay." Indeed, I think she really did!

I said Smile for the camera...not Tongue for the camera
I am starting to believe that the Payne family has a strong genetic compulsion to stick their tongues out when they see the camera. At first I thought it was just some teenage thing that Taylor was into. But I have started seeing even Adam show off his tongue for various photos. Then his dad!
Suddenly without prompting...I am noticing that even Macey has this tendency to sport her cute little tongue for the camera.

Being a Photographer's Child
So, I am taking this class. My children are less than thrilled...because I keep asking them to stop what they are doing to pose for the camera. Gavin really hates to have his picture taken as you can see!
Do you notice how sharp my background is? I did my assignment totally backwards. I hate to tell them that tomorrow we will have to go back out and do it again.
Either way...the photos totally capture my kids and their personalities at the moment.
And for all of you who wonder why I don't post more pics of Gavin (aka - Mike)...well this is the reason.
