Two long days and a late night...I'll post more later, but this was the highlight of the trip. Lanie got her hair styled, and ears pierced, while Macey purchased her new doll...with her own money. I am so proud of her for saving...and she is so smitten with her new doll!

Cook, Minn
In this house,
by the lake
this group went down to the dock to catch some fish
with dreams of filling up this fish house!
These hands showed the kids how to bait their hooks!
This boy got a lesson in fishing, and quickly got discouraged because...
this girl caught four fish, one right after the other!
This girl spent the afternoon trying to talk me into a swim...even if it was only 60 some outside. Kids are never cold!
These girls spent the day staying warm, texting, talking and giggling.

Wildlife
I haven't seen one yet...but the bullfrogs are out and croaking!
A Momma and her baby ducks...they come right up to you!
There are wildflowers everywhere!
And this guy is my favorite...he is my muse! I've been spying on him all day!
The boys just got back with our fishing licenses... so signing of to go and see what we can catch!

A Visit to the Wisconsin Dells
Here we are in the exact spot we said our I do's seven years ago. We wanted to take Macey and show her where we got married!
Macey was sporting her antlers from the Moosejaw. The same place we all went to eat after we got married seven years ago.
Of course we stopped at Nigs, the same place my sister, brother in law, father in law and husband went for beverages an hour before our wedding.

Happy 7 Years of Marriage!
Happy Anniversary to my husband!
Seven years ago tonight we had our rehearsal in the middle of an almost tornado. Read about it here.
Mr. and Mrs. Payne!
Can you believe this was only seven years ago?
An hour before the wedding Papsy (my father in law with the pink hair), my sister Kelly, her husband Eric and Paul and I went to have a drink at the "Swing at Nigs,"
My family and I
The minister kept laughing the entire time. I think it had something to do with the pink haired son and dad of the groom. We had always known that Adam was going to walk me down the isle with pink hair (along with Gavin), but Papsy wanted to show him he could have pink hair too. He knew I was nervous and thought it would take the pressure off me. I remember looking over and seeing Papsy with pink hair. I wish I had a picture of my face that that exact moment. All I could think about was my mother in law coming to our room an hour before the wedding in a panic looking for black socks because Papsy forgot to pack his black socks...and here he was with pink hair. Serious, do black socks look better with pink hair than white socks?
Me and my sisters
Gavin gave us all the thumbs up when I walked to Paul. He also asked if we were married now as soon as we kissed, as he had to pee, and he then proceeded to the bathroom in a big hurry.
Cutting of the cake. We were nice!
My poor niece Katie was in distress that there would not be enough wedding cake for all of us. It was just a little cake.
Paul made a toast. "Here's to the first day of forever!" Here, here, and clink!

Having a Monday
Her expression pretty much sums up my day!
On a very funny note I will share this story with you. Macey is now reading everything! Signs, billboards, bags, cereal boxes, etc. We went into the store the other night, and when we got back into the car Macey asked me "Did you see that what that girl's name was?" "No, I didn't. What was it?" Macey said all excited with a giggle, "Her name was Hello!" It took everything in me to not laugh at my budding reader. I told her that she didn't finish reading the rest, and that was just her name badge. Macey was still excited that she could read the word Hello. And snaps for me that I didn't laugh until I told her daddy later that night after she had gone outside and wasn't in ear shot. So cute!

Lemonade for sale, $.25
These cute little girls started up their own business today during our neighborhood garage sale. They were awesome!
There were lots of awesome people too who stopped to humor them. I wish I knew each of them to say thank you again and let them know how very much it made their days. It wasn't even so much the money, but just the interaction.
The next time you see a lemonade stand I hope you stop for a drink, and let the kids keep the change.

The capturing of a firefly
It is official! Summer is finally here. The fireflies are out, and Macey caught her first one tonight. She had some serious set backs...
1 she is scared of bugs
2 Jack wanted to eat them
3 Jack kept eating them
To my photographer friends...have you ever tried to photograph a firefly? If you haven't it is really a challenge and I would love to see what you could do!
