The Book of Macey Payne - my toast to the newly married couple

Each of our lives is an unfolding story. Macey's father and I are so blessed that we got to be at the beginning of her story.

Each of us here have a chapter in the book of Macey Payne.

  • Lydia - the chapter where you joined Macey and I to go on a girl's trip to Florida, via an ice storm. I wish there were video footage of us crossing the Ohio River that night. That is one of my favorite stories, best trips, and part of what made it so good was how hard it was to work to get to the beach that week.
  • Emily - the chapter where you two decided to run your own business, "Slim Time Corp" making slim in our kitchens and selling your wares in the hallways of Woodrow middle school until the principal shut you down.  You two deserve an A plus for women entrepreneurship.
  • Sophia - The chapter where we ate some Damn good food!
  • And Camron - the chapter we all witnessed today when you invited Macey to share your last name. Which sadly leads me to the final page of Macey Payne, our MVP, our Macey Moo Myrt!
With blank pages before you as you start a new chapter as husband and wife, never forget what a privilege and honor it is to hold one's story, to be an integral part of it. How the two of you choose to show up for one another each day will add to the happy ending or take away from it.

As Macey mentioned in her vows that time has flown by so fast, our story comes with book ends. Make the most of the time that you have with each other.

There were a lot of friends that helped bring McDonald's coke to you for your toast tonight. Chumba whatever season or chapter you are in, the story always needs a McDonald's coke.

Cheers to the Canada's!

In the meantime

well shit!

I've been so busy working hard,

        evolving and surviving,

                growing and learning,

                        thriving and vibing,

that I have failed to write any of it down.

I've moved out of state. I've grown as a leader. I've cried as a leader a lot. I've become a plant mom. I've made a few friends. A cat picked me. My son had a baby. I've been out West. I can "bless your heart" like the locals. I have a love for Tennessee! I've been to a Preds game! I've fired more people than I would ever want too! I know what the Bat Man building is personally through my girl. I've been to Broadway, still purchased my cowgal boots at Boot City in Terre Haute.

My husband has taken me to the beach again and again. It has become something I think both of our souls need! 30A, Destin, Laguna Beach. Alvin's Island beach stores - he Loves that Shit! Shelling and sea food and all sunsets on the shoreline.

Our baby girl is getting married this spring.

That is why I am back. I want to remember all the amazing days to come.

Great things to come...
