A beautiful day

I love this time of year!!! I always use to believe it was the cooler temps, and the crips air. But knowing how much I love the way things look behind the lense of my camera, I do believe that it is very much the color that the sunlight cast over the things and people I love so much!

If my life were a sound track

Here are a few that get to me. Be it the lyrics, the way it is delivered, or the emotion behind them there is something about these songs that give me chills every single time I hear them!

Songs seem to say all the words your own heart can't speak at times...

the line....is it having so little, or having it all, I've got it all! Elton seems to remind us that there are core things about who we are and what we love that NO ONE can ever take from you!

School Pictures

A year ago Gavin broke his arm, do you remember? While cleaning out his room I found these from last year and I couldn't help but laugh. And for the first time I was disappointed that he never showed these proofs to me so I could have actually order them. This must have been his first day back to school after breaking his arm. His arm is not set in the cast yet, and he is still sporting his hospital identity bracelet. Being a photographer I rarely order school photos...but I wish I had a chance to order these! What a classic.
Here's to a healed arm!

If my life were a sound track...

It could not be without the Beach Boys. My dad loved the beach boys, seems there was a time that they were always playing at our house. Then when my children were newborns my mom was teaching them Barbara Ann.

Once our parents took us on a family vacation to Michigan. While at dinner one night this song was playing and this couple got up and danced and sang to it as if no one else was watching. I thought it was so romantic. From then on when I heard this song I always thought to myself, that yes that would be nice!

If my life were a sound track....

This song so makes me think of my falling in love time with Paul. Every single word of it! On the weekends that Gavin was at his dad's Paul would come and stay...and Oh, how I hated Sunday mornings. Paul was a radio personality at the time working at a local Terre Haute station. He had to be on air early in the afternoon so on Sunday's he would drive back home. And as our relationship progressed I would drive back home after sleeping in his spare room with Gavin.

I cannot hear this song without feeling and falling in love with my husband all over again!

If my life had a sound track....

This one is a memory keeper in the Dishner house. I don't know who loved the song first, me, my sister or maybe my dad. But if this song was on the radio when he was home we would all stop what we were doing and go sing and dance to this song. I remember one time it came on at dinner and we still got up during dinner to sing and dance to the song.

The main part of the dance was to turn around when she sings "turn around" and then hold your eyes open wide with your fingers when she sings "bright eyes" and then fall down when she sings "falling apart". It was such a great time. I am sure if you try it now... it won't be the same. You had to be there!
