Today's My Blogaversary

Three years ago today I posted my very first blog, wanna see, click here!  In keeping with tradition here are some highlights of this last year, good and bad.  I admit I have slacked on this blog this year.  A little by choice, a little by lack of time, but mostly because there was lots of drama.  Many things would have made for some great entertainment, but I felt it best to not air my drama online.

We got a new sofa!

Paul has surgery on his arm. Poor Paul.

We all had a good laugh!

Along with learning to swim, and starting tumbling, Macey mastered the monkey bars. The girl does this till blisters cover her little hands.

We said good-bye to a friend. And gained a cow.

A trip to the arch on my birthday.

My first taste of anesthesia.

Gavin grew up! Here he is with Jack.

We spent an afternoon at the beach.

Macey went to her first concert, Train of course! Not only did she sit up front, she got to rock out with Pat, Jimmy, Scott and Hector on stage.

We took a ride on a Riverboat.

We celebrated our 9th year "On the Rocks" in Derby.
Here's to another year!

If you wanna see last years blogaversary click here, and the one before that here.

Hubby

He can be so fun...

My mom use to tell me, make sure you find someone that will treat his mom good...I did!

And while we all have our list of wants while we are in search of Prince Charming...it is a bonus when they exceed your best expectations.

While I had my own personal list of wants, and MUSTs that he passed.  I knew I had exceeded them when we brought our Macey home from the hospital.  Of couse she woke like all newborns do, clueless to the rules of when most humans sleep.  She was crying in her crib by our bed.  I tried to get her and leave quickly to keep him from waking, as he still had to go to work in the morning.  "Where are you going?" he asked me.  "Stay here, it is fine!"  He then went to get the biggest pillow we had to lay between us.  "Put her here."    After I nursed her, I placed her between us in our big bed on that pillow between us.  He patted her back and she went back to sleep between us.  And I feel in love with him all over again.

This man loves his kids.  Although his older children might have questioned this...push comes to shove he's got their backs!  I love that about this man. And I know he's got mine too!

A Dedication to my Hubby! Maroon 5 - Sunday Morning

Of all the songs that we have song, shared, talked about, felt, listend to, and wanted to name Macey after ..this is the one that ALWAYS brings me back to you ...and the Corner Cafe!  I love us, our history, and how true to us this song is.  Sunday mornings always sucked!  I am glad we no longer have to say good-bye ever Sunday morning.

Driving slow on Sunday morning...I never want to leave (but I could hear you on the radio if I were leaving you!)

Vote for Abe

Last weekend when we went back to Derby we stopped again at Lincoln's childhood home and turned in Macey's assignments to become a Lincoln Jr. Ranger.  She got a special badge for doing the work.  While we were there Macey thought that being President Lincoln would be fun for Halloween.  We got the hat and the beard...but I think she is having 2nd thoughts...only because she would be dressed like a boy.

Here she is with her badge, signed certificate and hat and beard.

I've been going in to kiss her goodnight this week to find her in the hate and beard.  She is such a funny girl.  But tomorrow we are going to the zoo for Halloween...she is not so sure and thinking her Belle dress would be better.  This year she had talked about going as a banana or Dorothy from Oz...but I still vote for Abe, wouldn't you?
